Job Description
JobEgy is looking for a Locum HCA to work for a GP practice in Healthcare Assistant HCA
Healthcare Assistant
£12 – £16 Hourly
Contract. This position is suited to a proactive Healthcare Assistant who can support the clinical team with routine procedures, patient assessments and day-to-day treatment room activity.
You will be part of an organised primary care environment where you will help manage patient flow, assist with core clinical duties and contribute to high-quality care delivery. The practice offers strong support and clear guidance to ensure every session runs smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing observations including BP, pulse, temperature and oxygen saturation
- Supporting with treatment room procedures
- Phlebotomy and sample handling (if trained)
- Completing ECGs and assisting with routine patient assessments
- Providing lifestyle advice and supporting health promotion
- Updating patient records accurately in the clinical system
- Assisting clinicians with general tasks as required
Requirements
- Prior HCA experience in primary care or the NHS
- Phlebotomy experience desirable
- Comfortable carrying out clinical observations
- Good communication and patient interaction skills
- Basic IT competence for clinical system documentation
- Enhanced DBS
Working Pattern
- Ad-hoc or regular weekly sessions
- Morning and afternoon availability
- Suitable for long-term block bookings
